It's been a few days since the year 2004 began. I'd like to keep the record of the past few days all at one time here...

(12/31/2003, New Year's Eve)
On New Year's Eve, I had sukiyaki party with C-san and her friends at her house, and later on we went out to join the New Year's Countdown. We were all excited while waiitng for the moment it turned to the new year... Crowds of people filled the square enjoying the performance played on the stage... I felt excited all the more because it was my first time to join in such countdown...

(01/01/2004, New Year's Day)
Wish you all a Happy New Year!!!
C-san and I went to the Holy Family Church to attend the Mass for Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God... After the Mass, C-san and I went to a restaurant to have lunch with a Father and the members of the Legion of Mary. Joyful laughter along with delicious foods made the moment all the more marvelous!
Later on in the evening, C-san and I went out to a department store where her friend works. Although we bought nothing particular apart from only a few daily necessaries, we had a pleasant time together.

01/02/2004 (Friday)
C-san and I went on a trip to a hot spring resort (it took us an hour and a half to get there by train). Ulike ways in Japan, they have to put on swimming suits to bathe in public bath in Taiwan, so we bought new ones at the hotel. There were outdoor hot spring baths on the top story of the hotel, so we enjoyed one of them to our heart's content. We took a long, nice soak in the bath...

01/03/2004 (Saturday)
Coming back to Taipei from the hot spring resort, C-san and I went to a movie theater to watch "The Lord of the Ring". Intense desire for power, betrayal, suspicion, courage, loyalty, belief and love were all woven up into the film. I was a little disappointed with Frodo when he was tempted to possess the ring for his own. On the contrary, although he was not the main character of the movie, I was very fascinated with Sam for his integrity and humbleness.

01/04/2004 (Sunday)
C-san and I went climbing in the nearby mountains of Taipei City with her friend A-san. We took a bus to the foot of the mountain. And before we took our first step toward the mountain, we bought some sandwiches for our breakfast, which we planned to have on the top of the mountain. It took us about half an hour to get to the top. At the top of the mountain, we could afford the entire view of the City of Taipei. It was a breath-taking, spectacular view!
On our way home, we stopped by a park and enjoyed sun-bathing on the grass under the shining sun. The park was filled with colorful flowers as well as lots of people.
Later on in the evening, C-san and I went to the Holy Family Church to attend the Mass. C-san helped a Father carry out the ritual then. She looked solemn as well as peaceful in the white gown... We then went to a night-market on our way home.
